We are looking for an experienced and well-qualified native English teacher to join our team of dedicated and hard-working staff. Our staff body currently consist of 4 English teachers and 3 Korean teachers. The work environment is friendly and welcoming and we would like our new teacher to fit comfortably into this atmosphere.

Job description:

  • Location: Tongyeong
  • Working hours: 9am-6pm
  • Salary: 2.5 million won
  • Visa: E2
  • Age groups: Kindergarten 4-7 years / Elementary 8-13 years (Korean age)
  • Benefits: Single furnished housing provided, 10 days vacations plus national holidays, severance pay, all major insurances provided, pension contributions

Role and Responsibilities:

1) Pickup the bus in the morning: Teachers are expected to pick up buses in the mornings one week in a given month. This is done according to a rota given by the school, which assigns each teacher a week to do this duty.

2) Snack and lunch duty: Teachers are expected to cover snack and lunch times based on a rota. This rota is typically created by the school and assigned to each teacher, who will be responsible for covering snack and lunch times for one week in a given month. The teachers will be responsible for supervising students, helping to serve meals, and ensuring that the environment is safe and clean.

2) Swimming, Cooking, and Extracurricular: Teachers are expected to help the children with extracurricular activities such as swimming and cooking classes, as well as field trips and excursions. They should ensure that the children are supervised and safe throughout the duration of the activities. Additionally, teachers should provide assistance to the children when needed, and ensure that the children are having a positive experience.

3) Monthly Reports: Teachers are expected to write a monthly report on the progress of their students. This report should include a summary of the student's academic progress, as well as details on any extracurricular activities they have participated in. Additionally, the report should include any observations or insights the teacher has had about the student's development in lessons. The report should be submitted to the Principle at the end of each month.

4) Pangram-on: After 4:20 PM, teachers will teach primary/elementary school kids at another Hagwon called 'Pangram-on'. This is a future-oriented educational model which aims to prioritise teaching students the most fundamental language components they will use in every day life and their futures.

  • A successful applicant would need to be available to begin teaching 1st of June 2023 but arrive at least 1 week prior to this
