Work on the Victoria University English Program in Shenyang, China.
We have begun a phased return to in-person teaching at our partner school, Liaoning University and we are accepting applications from qualified language instructors for classroom-based teaching in Shenyang. The contract is for one-year (renewable). The in-person start date is flexible for 2023 (student semester dates below).

Semester III - 04 September to 22 December (15 weeks) with second year students (EAP5 Business English)
Semester 1 - 09 October to 22 December (11 weeks) with first year students (EAP3)

The 2024 semester will resume after Chinese New Year (around the end of February). We are also accepting applications for 2024 start dates.

The package includes a competitive salary, arrival accommodation and then a monthly accommodation allowance, one international flight per year, and support through the process. Once in China, teachers receive ongoing support from VU English and the local university staff to make the transition as smooth as possible.

About VUE (www.vu.edu.au): We are part of Victoria University (Melbourne, Australia) and we recruit and manage language educators for partner universities in mainland China. The students are in their first and second year of university and they undertake an ELICOS English for Academic Purposes (EAP) preparatory program prior to entry into specialisation courses.

Salary:

5000 CNY per week

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an undergraduate degree (completed in English) and a CELTA (or strong equivalent)
• 1 year teaching experience
• Strong organisational skills and ability to problem solve
