Grade 1 ~ Grade 3 Homeroom Teacher

1. Roles and Responsibilities

Saint Paul American Scholars (SPAS) Dongtan Campus is seeking a dedicated candidate to serve as a homeroom teacher for Grade 1, 2 or 3 students. As a homeroom teacher, she/he will be responsible for teaching a variety of subjects including language arts, math, social studies, art, and etc.

Responsibilities

  • Teach homeroom subjects to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade students such as language arts, math, social studies, art, and etc.
  • Follow the curriculum provided by SPAS to create lesson plans for students
  • Ensure that students meet all learning standards as set out in the U.S. CCSS standards
  • Supplement learning by using various activities and visual aids in lessons
  • Create tests and projects to test student learning
  • Give students constructive feedback on areas that need improvement
  • Grade assignments and prepare student progress reports in a timely manner
  • Attend and participate in faculty and staff meetings
  • Take part in PTCs (Parent-Teacher Conferences) and speak with parents regarding their children
  • Attend official SPAS functions

2. Candidate Qualifications

  • Candidates must be a citizen of one of the following countries: U.S.A., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa
  • Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor degree in education
  • Candidates with a teaching license are preferred
  • Candidates with at least 2 years of teaching experience are highly preferred

3. Working Conditions

Start Date: Aug. 14, 2023

Working Hours: M-F: 7:40AM - 4:40PM

Teaching Hours: 5-6, 45-minute classes per day (Max 28 hours/ Normally 20-25 hours per week)

Extracurricular Class: 2-3 days per week

Students per Class: 15 students max

4. Salary and Benefits

Salary: From 2.5 Million KRW (Negotiable Upon Experience)

Insurance and Financial: Insurance and pension matched by employer

Paid Vacation: 6-7 weeks (Summer 3-4, Winter 2, and Spring Breaks 1) plus Korean National Holidays

Sick Days: 3 days of paid sick leave available

Housing: Studio housing or 500,000 KRW housing allowance provided

Morning/afternnon snack and lunch provided
